Continuing my reveries about Nantucket, I will share some photos taken on our lovely walks around the Island.
The shops outdo one another with their creative use of plant material, using color, texture and form in unique ways.
Some spaces require planters or urns and great ideas are found all over! This urn drew me close to the window where I then obsessed over the beautiful mother of pearl pendant necklace!
But back to window boxes….
Love the use of grasses in both window boxes and containers. The ocean breezes create a beautiful movement.
Impatiens are not inspiring, but the color here is! Maybe the dazzler series?
I love the use of the begonia; it adds a vertical element and the dots catch your eye!
Which do I admire more – the perfectly trimmed boxwood or the perfectly arranged window boxes?
Simple and elegant, the essence of in-town Nantucket!
I will leave you with one of my favorites, and promise to share more of this wonderful faraway island in days to come!
I loved all of them. I found myself trying to see through the shop windows, too – everything looks so interesting!

OMGOODNESS how I love New England! I lived in the North Shore area of Boston but never made it to Nantucket. I did spend almost every Sunday afternoon in Marblehead where we would find homes similar to this. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for visiting today!!! Aren’t those flower boxes so wonderful?

Hi Jayne, thanks so much for visiting my blog! Wow, what a beautiful collection of window boxes! I do not think I’ve seen a prettier collection outside Oregon’s cozy coastal town called ‘Cannon Beach’. Your pictures made me want to jump on a plane and head over to Nantucket to view the beautiful flower displays for myself. I liked the boxes that included trailing fuschias the best. Gorgeous! Cheers, Jenni
