Don’t we all love a sunny Spring day? Poems are written, first lines of novels are penned with that perfect Spring day in mind. We haven’t had one yet, but as soon as the day breaks, we are on the look out for it!
The raised bed project continues with two new beds being added on the lower lawn.
While dear husband worked on finishing that up, I came down with a dread cough and cold. But a divine package arrived in the mail! I could never travel to Paris with a severe cold like this, but Paris arrived in a brown homely package… Thank you Dean & Deluca for importing this!
Opening the tin was heaven and a balm to the senses! Jasmine!
The English may have the rituals for tea down pat, but it seems the French know their tea as well. Get out grandmother’s Limoges tea cup and saucer and cure the cold! Husband observes that it is like drinking flowers. (He has been behind a desk for too long, and now is making great strides in the natural world; his power of observation is growing by leaps and bounds! Love him!)
So, dreams of the perfect Spring day continue, while the reality of sniffly noses and rain intrude. We know that the raised beds will soon be filled with compost and peat and soil, that the tiny seedlings still struggling on windowsills will be planted and may thrive, but today be content to stay inside with a cup of tea, box of tissues and thoughts of what will be planted in those beds on a perfect (maybe) Spring day. NOT today…..
